Pyrates is an R&D company and textile supplier, working with the resources our planet has to offer to innovate on the aesthetic properties, functionality and sustainability of natural knit textiles. The company develops and supplies its quality-driven PYRATEX® fabrics to other brands through collaborations. Pyrates believes in the evolution of textiles towards being more functional and responsible.
Pyrates creates functionality in textiles with innovative natural fibers, something that until now was only present in synthetic materials. Through R&D projects, the company looks into the fibers unique properties, as well as its entire production process, ensuring the utmost quality and traceability.
Health I
PYRATEX® fabrics are made from either vegetal, upcycled or biodegradable fibers. The vegetal fibers all originate from different plants, which give the fabrics their unique functionality. The active components in the textile are not injected nor added; they are naturally occurring in the plant we make the fabric from: they have no expiration date, nor do they wash away.
‘Health I’ is a blood circulation improving and muscle relaxing jersey knit is made from GOTS certified cashmere and a unique vegetal fibre we are currently patenting the textile use of, which brings its properties such as warmth retention and UV protection. All PYRATEX® fabrics are knitted in Europe, ensuring the capacity to have full control and traceability of our production chain and techniques. Blending tradition with innovation, Pyrates is digitising its processes and fabrics, in order to adapt to the markets' current need for a more sustainable and non-physical alternative to textile sourcing and showcasing.
